Vivek is an Advisor to the A.T.E. Group (India) companies in the cleantech sector. He serves on the Board of Directors of A.T.E. Private Limited, HMX Systems Private LImited, A.T.E. Envirotech Private Limited and EcoAxis Systems Private Limited. Vivek also serves as a Venture Advisor to an international, late stage, cleantech Venture Capital fund. He is also a mentor to entrepreneurs and young companies. 

Prior to founding Boston Cleantech, Vivek was Chairman and Chief Technology Officer at Navitas International, a special purpose acquisition company formed for the purpose of acquiring an operating business in India in energy, water and transportation sectors.  From 2001 to 2004, Vivek served as President, Corporate Technology Strategy and Services at the Aditya Birla Group, one of the largest industrial groups in India. Prior to joining the Aditya Birla Group, Vivek was Director, Science & Technology, at Polaroid Corporation, where he worked from 1987 to 2001. Vivek started his career in 1985 at Shell Development Company, a Royal Dutch/ Shell Group Company in Houston, TX.  

He received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and his B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India. He has attended the Executive Development Program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Vivek is a Charter Member of TiE-Boston. He is also member of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge and has been associated with several professional organizations.  He has an excellent network in the financial, business and technical communities in the US and in India.
